There’s no special formula for keeping a business open for decades, but since Ric’s just celebrated 41 years of business, we’d like to think we know a thing or two about it. Here are the four keys to our long-term success.
- Keep employee turnover low. It’s very important to us that our customers associate reliability and consistency with their Ric’s experience. Part of the reason that our customers are so comfortable at our shop is they know and recognize our employees. As we mentioned in our last post, our Manager of Operations Dean Slaughter has been at Ric’s for 24 years. Many of our painters and technicians have been with us for more than 10 years. We value our employees and strive to keep them with us for many years.
- Stay at the top of our game. While our quality and customer service have remained consistent since 1976, we know the importance of improving and evolving our business to keep up with the times. That’s why we use water-based, environmentally friendly paint that reduces emissions of harmful volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and provides better coverage. Our repair shop is outfitted with technology to compare frame and alignment to manufacturers’ specs and we use state-of-the-art equipment for all repair work. In addition, our technicians receive the latest and greatest I-CAR Gold Class certifications.
- Stand behind our work. When you leave Ric’s with your repaired car, you also leave with the peace of mind that comes with our repair warranty. We guarantee that the repairs we’ve made and parts we’ve replaced will stand the test of time, which is why we offer a lifetime warranty on repairs as long as you own the vehicle.
- Treat our customers well. If you’ve read our blog in the past, or have seen any of our reviews, then you already know how we feel about our customers. Outstanding customer service is the cornerstone of our business, and the main reason we have been in business for 41 years. When customers come into our shop, it’s usually because they’ve been in an accident, which is a stressful time for anyone. That’s why we make the repair process as painless as possible by walking customers through each step, staying in constant communication, and working with insurance companies to facilitate the process.
